Privacy Policy

Fixmation runs this site and decides what happens to the data described below — the data controller, in GDPR terms. Questions, requests and complaints go to hello@fixmation.dev, and reach a human, not a ticket queue.

When you send the quote form. Your name, your email address, the description of what needs fixing, and the size you guessed. You choose what goes in the description — please leave out passwords, API keys and customer records; if a fix needs credentials, we agree on access separately.

When you read a page. Aggregate usage statistics: the page URL, the referring site, any utm_* tags in the link you followed, approximate country, browser, operating system and screen size, and the fact that the quote form was submitted. This runs on Umami, which we host ourselves. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address, builds no profile of you, and follows you to no other website. There is no advertising network, no session replay and no third-party tracker on this site.

Server logs. The web server records requests, including IP addresses, to keep the site up and to stop abuse.

• To answer your request and do the work — steps taken at your request before a contract, and then the contract itself (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To measure the site — our legitimate interest in knowing which pages and which sources produce work (Art. 6(1)(f)), which is why the statistics are aggregate and cookieless.
• To keep the service secure — our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• To keep required records — invoices and the like, where the law says we must (Art. 6(1)(c)).

This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage for tracking. Nothing here asks for consent because nothing here needs it.

No one buys this data and no one is given it for their own purposes. It is handled only by services we use to run the business, on our instructions:

• the hosting provider whose server this site and its database run on;
• Telegram, which delivers the notification that a new request arrived — that message contains your name, email and description;
• an email provider, for the reply we send you.

We would also disclose data if the law required it. The analytics are self-hosted, so no analytics vendor is involved at all.

• Quote requests: up to 24 months after our last exchange, so we can honour warranties and pick up repeat work — or until you ask us to delete them.
• Completed jobs: as long as accounting and tax law requires, then deleted.
• Usage statistics: aggregate counts, kept up to 24 months. They are not linked to you.
• Server logs: about 30 days.

Requests are stored in our own database, on a server we rent and control in Germany — inside the EU — and not in a third-party CRM. The usage statistics run on our own infrastructure in the EU as well, which is the point of hosting them ourselves.

Two things do leave the EU: the notification we receive when a request arrives (Telegram) and the email we reply with. Those transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to the processing we base on legitimate interest, and receive your data in a portable form. Write to hello@fixmation.dev and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.

The quickest of these is deletion: ask, and your request and every message attached to it are removed from the database.

This is a service for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We keep no separate archive of earlier versions — the current text is the whole policy.
